Reviews

After a guest buys a voucher or attends a venue, Sidedoor emails them a short “How was it?” review link (see Leaving a review for the guest’s side). Their ratings and comments land in Analytics → Reviews, so you can see how guests feel across all your venues in one place.

Open it from the operator-wide main menu → Analytics → Reviews. Like the rest of Analytics, it spans all the venues you run and follows the same period selector at the top of the page.

Four numbers set the scene for the chosen period:

  • Reviews - how many reviews came in.
  • Average rating - the mean star rating out of 5.
  • 4★ or higher - the share of reviews that were 4 or 5 stars.
  • Low ratings - how many were 1 or 2 stars, so problems stand out.

Below the tiles is a table of the individual reviews in the period:

Column What it shows
Date When the review was left.
Venue Which of your venues it was for.
Rating The 1-5 star rating.
Comment The guest’s optional note, if they left one.
Guest The guest’s name and email.
Source What prompted the review - Voucher, Reservation, Event or Guest list.

Select a row to open the full review in a panel alongside the table. It repeats the rating, source, venue and date, then lists the guest’s answers to any review questions the venue asks, such as category ratings and whether they’d recommend the venue, followed by their comment in full.

The Guest column (name and email) appears for any teammate whose role can open this Reviews page. There’s no separate guest-access tier: anyone granted Analytics access, whether that’s Reviews, Dashboard, Report builder or Exports, sees the guest’s identity alongside the rating. Grant these under Team, roles & permissions. A teammate whose role can’t open Analytics at all won’t see this page, or the column.

The overall star rating and comment are always asked. Add more under each venue’s Settings → Marketing → General → Reviews:

  • Category ratings - up to 6 extra star ratings for parts of the visit, for example Food, Drinks, Service or Ambience. Renaming a category keeps its past answers.
  • Would you recommend us? - a Yes/No question, shown as a Recommend % in the Daily guest satisfaction email.

Both are optional for the guest. Answers appear in the Daily guest satisfaction email and in each review’s detail panel, alongside the overall rating and comment.
