Tracking & results

Every campaign reports back on how it did - who received it, who engaged, and, crucially, what it did to bookings and revenue. You’ll find these figures on a campaign’s detail view and in the Results by channel summary on the Campaigns list.

Metric What it means
Recipients How many guests the campaign was sent to.
Sent Messages handed off for delivery.
Delivered Confirmed delivered.
Bounced Couldn’t be delivered (a bad or closed address).
Opened How many recipients opened it (email).
Clicked How many clicked a link.
Unsubscribed How many opted out from this send.
Attributed reservations Bookings credited to this campaign - see below.
Attributed revenue Revenue from those bookings, plus any voucher purchases credited to the campaign - see below.

Opens and clicks count distinct recipients - one guest opening twice counts once. The detail view also shows an engagement funnel and a per-recipient table (contact, whether they opened, whether they clicked).

  • Open tracking uses a tiny invisible image in the email. Click tracking routes each link through a redirect so it can be counted. Both are on by default and can be toggled per campaign in the composer’s Settings step.
  • SMS short links - every link in a text message is automatically shortened, which keeps messages within the character budget and makes the clicks countable.

Sidedoor connects marketing to money with click-based attribution: if a guest clicks a campaign and then books within the next 7 days, that booking - and its revenue - is credited to the campaign. If a guest clicked more than one campaign, the most recent qualifying click gets the credit, and each booking is only ever counted once.

Voucher purchases count too. Reservations, bookings and voucher purchases a guest makes within 7 days of clicking a campaign are all attributed to it. A voucher purchase adds to Attributed revenue but not to the Attributed reservations count, which tracks bookings and reservations only. That’s why attributed revenue won’t always divide evenly by the number of attributed reservations: gift voucher spend is folded into the revenue figure.

This is what powers the Attributed reservations and Attributed revenue figures, so you can see which campaigns actually filled tables rather than just earned opens.
