Sidedoor Score & loyalty

Every guest on Sidedoor carries a Sidedoor Score and a set of automatic loyalty tags. Together they give you an at-a-glance read on how reliable and valuable a guest is - built from their real behaviour, kept up to date for you, and shared across the whole platform.

The Sidedoor Score is a single 0-100 reputation score shown on every guest’s profile and available as a filter on your Bookings and Guests lists.

It is global: it reflects a guest’s standing across the entire Sidedoor platform, not just at your venues. A guest who is a trusted regular elsewhere arrives with that reputation already visible to you.

The score is built from a handful of signals:

  • Loyalty - how much a guest has earned by turning up and spending (see Loyalty points below).
  • Connections - how many other guests they are connected to in the network.
  • Account age - how long they have been on Sidedoor.
  • Membership - their membership tier.

You do not maintain the score yourself. It updates automatically as guests earn and lose loyalty, and is refreshed on a regular schedule so it always reflects a guest’s recent activity rather than things that happened long ago.

On the guest profile the score tile also shows a small up or down arrow next to the number - a quick read on whether the guest’s score has been rising or falling lately compared with roughly a week earlier.

Alongside the client tags you assign yourself, Sidedoor applies its own automatic loyalty tags. These are awarded by the system from a guest’s behaviour, appear read-only on the guest profile, and cannot be edited or removed by operators - so they mean the same thing at every venue.

Tag Roughly means
loyal A regular - visits often.
reliable Consistently turns up for their bookings.
big spender Spends well across their visits.
risk Has a pattern of not showing up.
well connected Connected to many other guests.

Like the score, these tags track a guest’s recent activity (the exception is well connected, which reflects their connections over their whole time on Sidedoor), so they stay a live picture of how a guest behaves now.

Behind the score, each guest builds up loyalty at every venue they visit. The idea is simple:

  • Showing up earns loyalty. A successful check-in - from a reservation, the guest list or an event - adds to a guest’s standing at that venue.
  • Spending earns loyalty. Buying event tickets or vouchers adds loyalty in proportion to the amount spent.
  • Trying somewhere new earns a little extra. The first time a guest visits a venue, they get a small bonus for the new connection.
  • No-shows cost loyalty. Failing to turn up reduces a guest’s standing, more so when a deposit was held.
  • Refunds and cancellations are undone. If a purchase is later refunded or cancelled, the loyalty it earned is reversed, so the score only reflects activity that actually stuck.

This loyalty is tracked per venue and per operator, and it feeds up into the platform-wide Sidedoor Score and the automatic tags above. You do not manage any of it by hand - it is all computed for you.

Those per-venue points also roll up into a single network loyalty tier for the guest: Bronze, Silver or Gold. This is a separate, simpler ladder from the 0-100 Score - a standing based on a guest’s total points across every Sidedoor venue, not just the loyalty they have built with you. As a guest earns more points over time, they move up a tier.

You will see it on the guest’s profile, in the Sidedoor loyalty strip: a tier badge showing their current tier, and a progress bar toward the next one. Like everything else here, it is kept up to date for you - there is nothing to set.

The tier also powers marketing: it drives the Loyalty tier upgraded automation (which congratulates a guest the moment they reach a new tier) and merge variables like {{loyalty_tier}} you can drop into your messages. See Automations for the full recipe.
