The Business intelligence engine
The Business intelligence tab is powered by an engine that quietly studies your booking history and turns it into forward-looking guidance. Where the rest of Analytics tells you what has happened, this looks ahead - and it gets better at it the more your venues trade.
This page is the why: what the engine does for you and why it’s worth leaning on. For the how - where the tab lives and how to read a card - see Business intelligence.
What it does for you
Section titled “What it does for you”The engine answers the forward-looking questions you’d otherwise have to guess at:
- How busy will the days ahead be? A demand picture for your upcoming dates, so you can staff, stock and open tables to match - not to a hunch.
- Which bookings are at risk of a no-show? So you can shore them up - a reminder, a deposit, a confirmation call - before an empty table costs you.
- Which guests are drifting away? Regulars who’ve gone quiet and are worth winning back before they’re gone for good.
- Which guests are worth the most? The relationships that carry your revenue, so you know where to spend your attention.
These are numbers you’d normally have to feel your way toward. The engine puts a figure on each one, grounded in what your own venues have actually done.
It grows with you
Section titled “It grows with you”The engine learns from your history, so the more you trade, the sharper the picture.
- Fresh every night. Predictions are recomputed on your latest bookings, so what you see each morning reflects where your venues actually stand - not last month.
- Useful from day one. A brand-new venue doesn’t start blind. Until it has enough history of its own, the engine leans on broader patterns across the platform to give you sensible guidance from the start.
- Ever more tailored. As your own history deepens, the guidance shifts from those broad patterns to your venue’s real rhythms - your busy nights, your regulars, your no-show habits. It becomes more yours the longer you run it.
Numbers and what to do about them
Section titled “Numbers and what to do about them”A forecast on its own is just another figure. The engine’s real value is that it pairs the number with a plain-English explanation and a next step:
- the engine produces the forecasts and scores;
- the insight cards turn each one into an observation, why it matters, a recommendation and the outcome to expect - and deep-link you straight to the screen where you act on it;
- where the Aimy add-on is enabled, that explanation is phrased in natural language, so a card reads like advice from someone who knows your numbers.
You get the what, the why and the what next in one place, without reading a chart.
Always on, no effort
Section titled “Always on, no effort”The engine works in the background - there’s nothing to set up, schedule or run. You just open Analytics → Business intelligence and read what matters, with the most urgent items surfaced first. No dashboards to build, no queries to write.
Guidance you can trust
Section titled “Guidance you can trust”Forward-looking guidance is only useful if it’s honest, and this is built to be:
- It’s your data. Every prediction is grounded in your own venues’ history - not a generic benchmark or someone else’s numbers.
- It knows what it doesn’t know. Forecasts come with a range, not a single false- precise number, and that range is wider when the engine has less to go on. A card only appears once there’s enough signal behind it - so you’re never acting on noise.
- It respects who sees what. Insights that quote money or guest-level detail follow the same analytics access as everything else: a teammate only sees the guidance their role allows.
