Marketing
Marketing is where you reach your guests directly - one-off campaigns, always-on automations, reusable audiences and email designs, all in one place. You’ll find it in the client portal’s main menu under Marketing. It spans all the venues you run, so a group can market from a single place.
Everything you send from here follows the same guest-friendly rules: consent and unsubscribes are respected automatically, and each send counts toward your monthly messaging allowance. You look after the message; Sidedoor looks after the plumbing.
The Marketing menu
Section titled “The Marketing menu”Marketing is split into a handful of tabs:
| Tab | What it’s for |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Your monthly messaging allowance across channels, at a glance. |
| Campaigns | One-off email, SMS and push broadcasts to a chosen audience. |
| Automations | Always-on, triggered messages - birthdays, first visits, win-backs and more. |
| Segments | Saved, reusable audiences built from guest behaviour. |
| Templates | Reusable, branded email designs to drop into a campaign or automation. |
Your messaging allowance
Section titled “Your messaging allowance”The Dashboard tab shows a per-channel view of your monthly messaging allowance - how much you’ve used, your allowance, and how much is remaining - for Email, SMS and Push separately. Every campaign, automation and test send counts toward it.
If an audience would take you past what’s left for the month, the send is held and you’re offered add-on packages that top up your allowance. SMS is metered more tightly than email, so keep an eye on it if you run large text campaigns.
Consent is handled for you
Section titled “Consent is handled for you”You never have to manage suppression lists by hand. On every send, Sidedoor automatically:
- Skips anyone who has unsubscribed from that channel, and
- Skips suppressed contacts (hard bounces and spam complaints).
Transactional messages - booking confirmations, receipts, account emails - are separate and always send. See Consent & guest preferences for the full picture.
Who can use Marketing
Section titled “Who can use Marketing”Access to Marketing is controlled by a Marketing permission on a teammate’s role. Account owners (Full Access) have it automatically; for custom roles, grant the Marketing permission to the people who run your campaigns. See Team, roles & permissions.
