Guest list setup
The guest list lets people put their name down for entry rather than booking a table. This page covers how you configure list behaviour; day-to-day list bookings (approving, rejecting, checking in) are handled elsewhere.
Where these settings live
Section titled “Where these settings live”Everything about how your list behaves - its access tier, free vs paid entry, capacity, pricing, party size, surge and the checkout hold - is configured inside a Guest List Access Profile, which you build and edit under Settings → Policies → Access Profiles and attach to your guest-list access rules.
A guest list is “on” for a slot whenever a guest-list access rule backed by one of these profiles is in force, so the profile is where you turn list behaviour on and tune it.
The fields below are the sections of the Guest List Access Profile editor. Each is optional and can be toggled on per profile, so a busy Saturday profile can differ from a quiet weekday one.
Venue access tier
Section titled “Venue access tier”Venue Access controls which membership tier a guest needs to join the list while this profile is in force. There are three tiers:

Free and paid entry
Section titled “Free and paid entry”Two independent toggles decide how guests get onto the list:
- Free guest list - when on, guests can request free spots, subject to your approval. When off, only paid spots are offered.
- Paid guest list - when on, guests who pay the Paid guest list price (or the surge price, below) are auto-approved without manual review. You set the price right under this toggle.
You can run both together (a free list that people can also pay to skip approval on), or just one.
Capacity and party size
Section titled “Capacity and party size”| Setting | What it does |

| Party size | The smallest and largest group one guest can add, counting the lead guest plus any plus-ones. |
Party size is set on the profile in force. Guest List Capacity is an optional override: turn it on to cap the list at this profile’s own number, or leave it off to fall back to the venue-wide Settings → Guest List → Default List Capacity. With both left off, the list is uncapped.
Surge pricing
Section titled “Surge pricing”Surge raises the price automatically once spots are running low, so late joiners on a busy night pay more:
- Threshold - the number of spots remaining at which surge kicks in.
- Surge price - the price applied once you’re past the threshold.
Hold spot during checkout
Section titled “Hold spot during checkout”Hold spot during checkout reserves the guest-list spot the moment a guest reaches the details step, then releases it automatically if they don’t finish in time. The guest sees a countdown.
- Turn on Hold the spot while the guest checks out, then set Hold for a number of minutes.
- Keep it short (a few minutes) so abandoned checkouts don’t tie up capacity.
Tying it together
Section titled “Tying it together”These profile fields sit alongside the profile’s Booking Policy, Booking Window and Admission Rule sections, covered in full under Access Profiles.
To reward specific guests with discounts, automatic approval or extra plus-ones, attach an admission rule group to the profile. Admission rules read client tags, booking history and social connections to decide who qualifies.
