Events

Events lets you list what’s on at your venues - from a club night to a supper club - with ticketing and booking built in. Open Events from the main menu to see everything across your venues, or from inside a venue to focus on one.

The list shows each event’s Event, Promoter, Venue, Date, Spots and Status, with a search box and filters by date (with quick shortcuts), status, visibility and promoter.

Open a venue and choose + Add Event to open the Add/Edit Event modal.

  1. Set the schedule. Choose the venue, then the start and end - you’ll be warned of any conflict - and the times.

  2. Describe it. Give the event a name and description, and pick a type and genre.

  3. Add a cover image. Upload your own (up to 15MB) or pick a stock image.

  4. Set capacity. Enter the max attendees.

  5. Add ticket types. Add one or more ticket types (see below).

  6. Set the status. Leave it as draft while you work, or set it to Live when it’s ready to be approved and published.

  7. Save the event.

Each event can have several ticket types. For every one you set:

Field Notes
Name e.g. Early Bird, General Admission, VIP.
Description Optional detail shown to guests.
Price Ticket price.
Capacity How many of this ticket are available.
Admission rule An admission rule that governs who can buy and any discount.
Ticket profile The ticket access profile that controls the booking window and visibility.

You can also attach optional guest-list and event profiles to fine-tune how the event behaves.

An event moves through these states:

State Meaning
draft Being prepared; not visible.
pending_venue_approval Submitted by a promoter and awaiting your approval.
approved (Live) Approved and live.
rejected Declined.
cancelled Called off.

When a promoter creates an event at your venue, it arrives as pending_venue_approval. Open it and use the detail view to approve or reject it. Approving publishes it as Live; rejecting sends it back.

Open any event to see tabs for Overview, Bookings and Edit, plus actions to Preview, Cancel or Delete. From here you can also Request app listing.

Like venues, events have an app listing state - none, pending, approved or rejected - that controls whether the event appears in the Sidedoor app for guests to discover. Use Request app listing from the event detail to submit it for review.

  • Cancel - call off an event while keeping its record.
  • Delete - remove an event entirely. Delete is disabled once the event has bookings, so you can’t erase an event people have already booked onto; cancel it instead.
