Analytics & reporting

Sidedoor turns everything happening across your venues into numbers you can act on. There are two places to work with them in the client portal’s main menu:

  • Analytics - curated, ready-made dashboards that answer the everyday questions (how busy, how many covers, who’s coming back), plus Exports and logs.
  • Reports - a custom report builder, saved reports, composable dashboards and plain-English questions, for when you want to slice the data your own way.

Both span all the venues you run, are read-only, and share the same underlying numbers - so a figure means the same thing wherever you see it.

Across analytics and reports, the same vocabulary of measures and breakdowns is available.

Measures fall into two families:

Counts Money
Bookings · Covers · Unique guests · No-shows · No-show % · Cancellation % · Deposits collected Revenue · Card revenue · Key-spend revenue · Add-on sales · Expected spend · Average spend · Revenue per booking · Revenue per cover

Breakdowns (dimensions) let you split any measure by date (day, week or month), weekday, venue, booking status, type (booking vs reservation), currency or guest.

Analytics respects each teammate’s role. Access is granted per surface under Team, roles & permissions, with a separate permission for each analytics area:

  • Dashboards - the ready-made analytics views.
  • Report builder - build and save your own reports.
  • Reviews - guest reviews and ratings.
  • Exports - download reservations, payments and vouchers.
  • Logs - the activity and email logs (see below).

Granting a custom role any of the four data surfaces (Dashboards, Report builder, Reviews or Exports) gives that teammate the complete picture: the counts, the money measures above, and guest-level detail (guest names and emails and guest-level rows) together. There is no way to grant one of these surfaces while withholding revenue or guest details, so give analytics access only to teammates you’re happy to have see money and guest information.

Logs is the exception: it doesn’t reveal any of the analytics data above (see below).

Account owners see everything.

The Analytics section also keeps two operator-scoped logs:

  • an Activity log of recent actions across your account, and
  • an Email log of recent outgoing messages.

These are separate from the data surfaces above and show no revenue or guest measures. They’re available to teammates with operator-settings access or a dedicated Logs grant under Team, roles & permissions.

  • Dashboards - the ready-made analytics views.
  • Reports - build, save and share your own.
  • Reviews - what guests said after their purchase or visit.
  • Exports - download reservations, payments and vouchers.
