Vouchers

Vouchers are a great way to treat someone - or yourself - to a night out. You buy them from a venue’s page, and they can be spent at that venue (and any other venue in the same group).

Buying or gifting a voucher

On a venue page, tap Gift a voucher (shown for venues that offer them) to open the voucher wizard.

1. Choose an amount. Pick one of the set values, or enter a custom amount if the venue allows it (within the stated range). Set the quantity you want - the running total updates as you go.
2. Who’s it for? Add an optional recipient name and a short message (up to 300 characters), then choose delivery: Send to the recipient or Send to me. If it’s a gift, add the recipient’s email.
3. Pay. The voucher itself appears here as a gift card, showing who it’s for, the venue, its value and expiry, with Where it works underneath listing any other venues in the same group where it can also be used. Check the summary - venue, amount, quantity, delivery and total - then pay with a saved card, a new card, or a device wallet (Apple Pay / Google Pay).

Your card is charged now, and the voucher is emailed once the payment completes - to the recipient if it’s a gift, or to you if you kept it. Each voucher arrives as its own card showing a unique code and value.

Viewing a voucher you own

Vouchers you’ve bought appear alongside your bookings. Open one to see its detail page.

At the top, the voucher appears as a gift card: who it’s for (or you, if you kept it), the venue, its value and expiry, and - once it’s no longer active - a status such as Redeemed or Refunded.

Detail	What it shows
Value	The voucher’s face value.
Code	The unique voucher code, in the format XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
Expires	The expiry date, or No expiry.

Underneath, Where it works lists the venue the voucher belongs to, plus any other venues in the same group where it can also be used - tap one to open that venue’s page.

Tap Show QR code to bring up a full-screen QR containing the same code.

A gift someone sends you

If someone else buys a voucher and chooses Send to the recipient, it arrives in your inbox as an email with its code and QR. It isn’t added to your own Sidedoor account or bookings list unless you were the one who bought it. Keep the email (or save the code) so you can present it at the venue.

Cancelling a voucher

Bought a voucher you no longer need? As long as it hasn’t been redeemed, you may be able to cancel it for a refund, depending on the venue’s refund policy.

Open the voucher’s detail page. If it’s still eligible, a Cancel & refund button appears. Tap it, confirm the refund amount, and the voucher is cancelled and the payment is returned to the card you paid with.

• The venue’s refund and cancellation terms are shown on the detail page, so you can see them before you cancel. Some venues make vouchers non-refundable, some refund only part of the value, and some set a cutoff, so the option won’t always be available.
• Once a voucher has been redeemed, or is already cancelled, refunded or expired, it can no longer be cancelled and the button won’t appear.

Redeeming at the venue

To spend a voucher, present the code or QR to staff at the venue and they’ll redeem it for you. There’s no in-app “redeem” button - redemption happens at the door or till.

No partial balance

A voucher is redeemed all at once - it’s used in a single go, and there’s no partial or remaining balance to carry over. Spend it in one visit for its full value.
