Signing in

Sidedoor is passwordless by default, so the easiest way in is a magic link sent to your email. You can also use a password if you’ve set one.

Sign in with a magic link

1. Open the sign-in page and choose the Sign in tab.
2. Enter your email and select “Email me a sign-in link instead”.
3. You’ll see a “Check your inbox” confirmation telling you the link expires in 15 minutes.
4. Open the email and tap the sign-in link. You’ll be signed straight in and taken to your home screen.

A few things worth knowing about magic links:

• The link works once and only for 15 minutes. After that it expires for your security.
• If it’s expired or already used, you’ll be asked to request a new one - just enter your email again to get a fresh link.
• Wrong email address? Choose “Use a different email” and request the link again.

Note

For your privacy, Sidedoor always says the link has been sent, even if the email isn’t recognised - so no one can use the login form to discover whether an account exists. If a link never arrives, double-check the address and check your spam folder.

Sign in with a password

If you prefer a password, choose the Sign in tab, enter your email and password, and submit. If the details don’t match you’ll see “Email or password is incorrect.”

Two-factor codes

If you’ve turned on two-factor authentication for extra security, after your email and password you’ll be asked for a 6-digit code from your authenticator app. Enter it to finish signing in.

Signing out

To sign out, open your Profile and select Log out. You’ll be returned to the sign-in page, and you’ll need to sign in again next time.
