Signing in

Sidedoor is passwordless by default, so the easiest way in is a magic link sent to your email. You can also use a password if you’ve set one.

Sign in with a magic link

1. Open the sign-in page and choose the Sign in tab.
2. Enter your email and select “Email me a sign-in link instead”.
3. You’ll see a “Check your inbox” confirmation telling you the link expires in 15 minutes.
4. Open the email and tap the sign-in link. You’ll be signed straight in and taken to your home screen.

A few things worth knowing about magic links:

• The link is valid for 15 minutes. It’s tied to your email address and can be used to sign in until it expires - after that you’ll need to request a new one.
• If it’s expired, you’ll be asked to request a new one - just enter your email again to get a fresh link.
• Wrong email address? Choose “Use a different email” and request the link again.

Note

For your privacy, Sidedoor always says the link has been sent, even if the email isn’t recognised - so no one can use the login form to discover whether an account exists. If a link never arrives, double-check the address and check your spam folder.

Sign in with a password

If you prefer a password, choose the Sign in tab, enter your email and password, and submit. If the details don’t match you’ll see “Email or password is incorrect.”

Two-factor codes

If you’ve turned on two-factor authentication for extra security, after your email and password you’ll be asked for a 6-digit code from your authenticator app. Enter it to finish signing in.

Guest and business accounts

If you also run a venue on Sidedoor, your guest account (the one you use to book tables, join guest lists and buy vouchers) is completely separate from your business account (the one you use in the client portal), even when they share the same email address.

Each one signs in on its own portal: the guest app and main site use your guest account, and the client portal uses your business account. If you enter a business account’s password here, you’ll see a message letting you know it’s a business account, with a link across to the client portal sign-in page, and there’s a “Business account?” link next to the form if you want to switch over yourself.

Password-reset and magic-link emails always open on the right portal for the account they’re for, so a guest sign-in link never opens the client portal, and a business one never opens the guest app.

Signing out

To sign out, open your Profile and select Log out. You’ll be returned to the sign-in page, and you’ll need to sign in again next time.
