Payments
Sidedoor keeps your cards ready so booking is quick, and your payment history in one place so you can always see what’s happened.
Saved cards & wallet
Section titled “Saved cards & wallet”Under Profile → Payment methods you can manage how you pay:
- Saved cards show as “Brand ···· last4” with the expiry date.
- Set any card as your Default, or Remove cards you no longer use.
- Pay with a device wallet - Apple Pay or Google Pay - where your device supports it.
To add a card, choose Add a card and enter your details securely. It’s then ready to use for bookings, vouchers, keys and membership.
Payment history
Section titled “Payment history”Under Profile → Payment History you’ll find a record of every transaction, labelled by what it was for - for example Keys top-up, Booking deposit, Event ticket, Queue skip, Premium membership, Refund or Voucher.
Each entry carries a status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Held | An amount is set aside on your card but not yet taken. |
| Released | A previously held amount has been let go - nothing was taken. |
| Refunded | An amount that was taken has been returned to you. |
Minimum hold, deposit, or nothing to pay
Section titled “Minimum hold, deposit, or nothing to pay”At checkout, a table booking shows one of three payment lines, so it’s always clear what you’re agreeing to:
- Minimum hold £X - nothing is charged. The amount is held on your card and released the moment you arrive. It isn’t a deposit and doesn’t come off your bill. You’re only charged if you don’t turn up or cancel late. Booking a while ahead of time, you’ll see Minimum hold, placed 3 days before: your card is saved now with your permission, and the hold itself is placed 3 days before your visit.
- Deposit £X - charged straight away and taken off your bill at the venue. You’ll see whether it’s refundable before you confirm, per the venue’s policy.
- Payment: None needed - nothing is due for this booking.
On your booking’s detail page, a Minimum hold shows as held, placed 3 days before, released or ended; a Deposit shows as paid, due or refunded. If a hold is charged because you didn’t turn up or cancelled late, you’ll see a No-show charge instead.
Paying for things
Section titled “Paying for things”Event tickets, vouchers and key top-ups are paid in full at the time you buy them. Table bookings usually use a deposit or hold. Whichever applies, you can always choose which saved card or wallet to use at checkout.
